CINCINNATI (AP) — The United States women’s national soccer team secured a dominant victory over Ireland, winning 4-0 in a match held on Sunday. This victory marks the second consecutive shutout against Ireland, as both teams faced off just days prior in Commerce City, Colorado, where the U.S. also triumphed by the same scoreline.

The U.S. team wasted no time in establishing control of the match. Lynn Biyendolo, serving as captain, netted her 25th international goal in the 11th minute after receiving a precise cross from Emma Sears. Following this, Izzy Rodriguez made an impressive debut, scoring in the 42nd minute off a rebound to extend the lead to 2-0.

After the halftime break, the U.S. continued to dominate the field. Emma Sears, who played a significant role throughout the match, kept the ball alive and assisted Olivia Moultrie, who later delivered a cross to Yazmeen Ryan. Alyssa Thompson, who came off the bench, increased the tally to four by scoring in the 86th minute, marking her second straight match with a goal.
