Oregon Women’s Basketball Secures First Big Ten Win
EVANSTON, Ill. — The Oregon women’s basketball team celebrated a significant achievement as they garnered their first victory in the Big Ten Conference on December 31, 2024. This triumphant moment was highlighted by Deja Kelly reaching a remarkable career milestone, scoring her 2,000th point during the game. The Ducks triumphed over Northwestern with a solid score of 85-65 at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
With this win, the University of Oregon’s women’s basketball team improved their season record to 10-4, marking a crucial turning point after previously falling short in their first two Big Ten matchups.
UO head coach Kelly Graves praised the team’s performance, stating, "All around, this may have been our best effort. This was a good team that we didn’t let look so good tonight.”
