In the latest AP Top 25 preseason women’s basketball poll, the University of Connecticut (UConn) maintains its position as the top-ranked team, continuing its legacy as reigning champions. This accolade marks a significant return to form for UConn, which garnered 27 first-place votes out of a possible 31 from a national media panel.

Following UConn in the rankings is the University of South Carolina, the previous season’s runner-up, which received the remaining four first-place votes. The top five teams include:
