The U.S. women’s water polo team has revealed its roster for the upcoming 2025 World Aquatics Championships, poised to take place in Singapore. Notably, only one athlete from the 2021 Olympic team—Amanda Longan—has been retained, highlighting a significant shift in the lineup.

This year, the squad comprises 15 athletes, including seven who will make their World Championships debut. The inclusion of fresh talent is a part of a broader strategy following a fourth-place finish for the U.S. team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Alongside Longan, the roster boasts six other returning players from the Olympic team: Tara Prentice, Jenna Flynn, Jovana Sekulic, Ryann Neushul, Jewel Roemer, and Emily Ausmus.

Among the newcomers slated for their first World Championships are Anna Pearson, Julia Bonaguidi, Emma Lineback, Isabel Williams, Rachel Gazzaniga, Malia Allen, and Ava Stryker. This blend of experience and fresh faces is designed to reenergize the program, particularly after a disappointing result in the previous World Championships held in Fukuoka, Japan, where the U.S. team was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Head Coach Adam Krikorian has finalized a 15-member roster, of which only 14 are permitted to participate each game day. The team is placed in Group B and will commence competition against China on July 10. The schedule also includes fixtures against the Netherlands and Argentina during the group stage.

To provide a context of the team’s accomplishments, the U.S. women’s water polo team is the reigning world champion, having clinched the title at the Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships. Prior to the 2023 championship, the team had celebrated consecutive victories stretching back to 2015, totaling eight world titles overall.
