WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An investigation is underway following a tragic incident that left two women dead and a 71-year-old man in custody after a suspected hit-and-run on Saturday night.
The collision occurred around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Bevan Road, as reported by the West Sacramento Police Department. Emergency responders pronounced the two female victims dead at the scene.
On Sunday morning, officers arrested David Alison Walker, a resident of Fair Oaks, with assistance from the Vacaville Police Department. The investigation is focused on identifying both the vehicle involved in the incident and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police stated via social media, “We will be working closely with the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office to pursue prosecution in this case.” The details regarding the identities of the deceased women will be disclosed by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office after their families have been informed, authorities added.
As the investigation proceeded, Jefferson Boulevard was temporarily closed in both directions to facilitate scene processing by law enforcement.
