The championship will take place at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, Illinois, starting at 9 a.m. on Monday. This marks the third consecutive season that the venue has hosted the prestigious event, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Illinois Wesleyan has established a remarkable track record, securing the last three CCIW titles since 2022 and dominating the competition with a total of eight championships over the past ten years, beginning in 2015. Head coach Craig Onsrud expressed a calm approach regarding the team’s expectations, stating, “We’re just playing the golf course. What happens at the finish happens at the finish. Not putting too much pressure on what the event means … just try to keep the players as loose as they possibly can.”
Senior golfer Brooke Erhard emphasized the importance of having confidence and faith in their abilities, saying, “I think our mentality heading into next Monday is just trusting the process. We’ve all just worked super hard.”
Following Illinois Wesleyan in the poll, Carthage claimed the second spot with 53 points and one first-place vote. Augustana took third with 46 points, while North Central and Millikin completed the top five with 41 and 36 points, respectively.
