Three Women Targeted for Cash in Disturbing Incidents

Incidents of Dowry Harassment Reported in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Overview of Recent Cases

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a troubling set of dowry harassment allegations came to light within a 24-hour period, prompting legal action across multiple police stations.

First Incident: Baijipura Case

The first reported incident occurred in Baijipura, where a woman faced severe domestic abuse as her husband and in-laws demanded a dowry of Rs 3 lakh to fund a new business venture. The situation escalated to physical violence.

A case has been officially filed at the Jinsi Police Station against multiple family members, including:

  • Husband: Rashid Pashu Patel
  • Father-in-law: Pashu
  • Mother-in-law: Suraiyya
  • Brother-in-law: Ibrahim
  • Maternal uncle: Javed Fakira Patel

Second Incident: Pannalalnagar Case

In a separate case from the Parijat area of Pannalalnagar, a married woman named Pranjali reported extensive mental and physical harassment from her husband and in-laws. They pressured her to deliver one and a half kilos of silver for religious offerings, in addition to demanding Rs 4 lakh for personal expenses.

After enduring abuse, including being stripped of her jewelry and expelled from her home, she lodged a complaint at the Jawaharnagar Police Station. Those charged include:

  • Husband: Pritam Prakash Deshmukh
  • Mother-in-law: Pratibha
  • Father-in-law: Prakash

Third Incident: New Hanumannagar Case

The third case arose from the New Hanumannagar area, where Kalyani Dharam accused her in-laws of ongoing mental and physical torture. Her complaint led to a case being filed at the Pundaliknagar Police Station.

Legal action has been initiated against the following individuals:

  • Husband: Pramod Deorao Dharam
  • Mother-in-law: Vimal
  • Father-in-law: Deorao
  • Sister-in-law: Kiran
  • Others: Savita Ajay Dhawan, Ajay Eknath Dhawan, Anita Sandeep Bhan

The increasing reports of dowry harassment in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highlight an urgent need for awareness and reform. Victims are encouraged to seek legal assistance and support.
