This Morning and Loose Women Confirm New Recording Location

The iconic daytime shows This Morning and Loose Women have officially announced their upcoming relocation as part of ITV’s significant budgetary adjustments. As part of a broad restructuring, both programs will move from the famed Television Centre in Shepherd’s Bush, London, to The Hospital Club in Covent Garden.

Changes in ITV’s Daytime Schedule

Last month, viewers were taken by surprise when ITV revealed a substantial overhaul of its daytime lineup, including a reduction in broadcast durations for both This Morning and Loose Women for half of the year. The shift aims to streamline operations amid financial constraints, which have reportedly led to over 220 job losses across the network.

New Studio Features

According to reports from The Sun, both shows, along with Lorraine, will be produced in a state-of-the-art studio located in the basement of The Hospital Club. “ITV are on a major budget-saving mission and have landed a new deal to film ITV Daytime at what was The Hospital Club,” a source disclosed. The intention behind this relocation is to inject fresh energy into production budgets amidst evolving television standards.

Impact on Programming

ITV has communicated that when changes to the daytime schedule take effect in 2026, these programs will be filmed from this new central London hub. A spokesperson emphasized that details about the new studio would be disclosed to staff once finalized. Currently, Lorraine will fill a time slot traditionally occupied by Good Morning Britain, airing for only half an hour daily.

Audience Cutbacks and Their Repercussions

In a further cost-cutting effort, Loose Women has decided to eliminate its live studio audience. This has caused significant concern among panelists, many of whom feel that the absence of an audience detracts from the show’s unique atmosphere. Nadia Sawalha voiced her distress over the decision, stating, “I am totally devastated by this fact…the audience is so important for the show.”

Concluding Thoughts

As ITV navigates through these financial adjustments, the ongoing changes to beloved daytime shows symbolize the network’s need to adapt to an ever-evolving broadcasting landscape. While the transition may be challenging for both talents and viewers alike, it remains to be seen how these changes will ultimately shape the future of ITV’s daytime programming.
