Swerve TV Launches Swerve Sports: A 24/7 Women’s Sports Channel
Swerve TV is set to expand its content offerings with the introduction of Swerve Sports, a pioneering free live-streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports. Debuting on The Roku Channel and Pluto TV, Swerve Sports aims to become the go-to destination for fans seeking comprehensive coverage of women’s football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, gymnastics, boxing, and rugby, among others. This new channel follows the success of Swerve Combat, which has garnered 20 million viewers over the past year.
Driven by Gen Z Demands
The launch of Swerve Sports is fueled by insights indicating a strong demand for women’s sports among Gen Z viewers. A study conducted by Toluna revealed that Gen Z sports fans have expressed a particular interest in live-streaming events, especially in basketball, gymnastics, and combat sports. Notably, Swerve Combat’s weekly women’s fight nights have consistently surpassed viewership on other days since their inception in April 2024.
A Strong Leadership Team
Swerve TV benefits from the expertise of a leadership team with a proven track record in media innovation. Christy Tanner, the chair of Swerve TV, highlights, “Swerve Sports is giving fans what they want – more women’s sports, free, live-streaming, 24/7.” Steve Shannon, CEO of Swerve TV, adds, “With the launch of Swerve Sports, we’re applying the same innovative approach that fueled the breakout success of Swerve Combat.”
