Game Recap: Dolphins vs. Saints
Liverpool, N.Y. – In a thrilling non-conference match-up, the Le Moyne College women’s tennis team faced the Siena College Saints, ultimately falling short with a 4-3 defeat at the Elevate Fitness tennis courts this past Saturday.
Doubles Highlights
The Dolphins started strong, clinching the first point of the day by triumphing in two of the three doubles matches. The standout duo of Feriel Mahbouli from Tunis and Ella Fernando from Manchester showcased their skills with a solid 6-3 victory against Siena’s Laia Giralt and Manuela Gomez. Furthermore, senior Isabella Barona from Manta and junior Paula Casares from A Coruna sealed the doubles point for Le Moyne by defeating their opponents, Madeline De Faber-Schumacher and Reegan Mullaney, by a score of 6-3.
Singles Competitions
However, the tides turned in singles play as Giralt defeated Le Moyne freshman Charlotte Klein 6-4, 6-4 in the top spot. In the second singles match, Siena’s Andrea Vargas overcame Mahbouli with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
On a positive note for the Dolphins, Casares earned her third consecutive singles victory by defeating Mullaney 6-4, 6-2. Fernando also contributed to Le Moyne’s score, taking down Zaara Omar in the fourth position with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
In a nail-biting No. 5 singles match, Siena’s Manuela Gomez edged past Barona 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. The decisive final point came from De Faber-Schumacher, who clinched the match for Siena with a tightly contested 7-6 (10-8), 7-5 victory over Alvarez.

The Le Moyne women’s tennis team is set to return to action on Sunday evening, facing off against Providence College at the Elevate Fitness tennis courts in DeWitt.
