This week, Lily Barnum, a freshman women’s soccer player from Pasadena, Md., was honored as the Shorewoman of the Week. Her contributions were pivotal in leading her team to a successful week, where they achieved two victories without a loss.
Historic Game Against Johns Hopkins
In an impressive display of skill, Barnum scored the game-winning goal against the #23 ranked Johns Hopkins team. This triumph, which marked the first victory for the Shorewomen against this opponent, took place on Saturday with just under 11 minutes left in the match. Barnum’s goal brought the score to 2-1, with assists from teammates Kaileigh Brady and Sophie Kilbride.
This goal also marked Barnum’s first career score, catapulting her and the team to an all-time lead series against Johns Hopkins.
Continued Excellence in Team Play
Earlier in the week, Barnum further showcased her abilities by assisting in the team’s only goal during a 1-0 win against Ursinus. This play occurred in the 39th minute, with Brady converting the assist into a crucial score for the Shorewomen.
