LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Shepherd University’s women’s soccer team delivered an impressive performance during their recent match against Lock Haven University, finishing with a convincing 4-0 score. This victory marks their third consecutive win, demonstrating their commanding presence in the PSAC conference.
Match Highlights
The Rams set the tone early when Annabelle Wunderlich found the net just under four minutes into the game, aided by assists from Josie Beezel and Adrianna Morales. Despite maintaining pressure on Lock Haven’s defense throughout the first half, the Rams could only secure a single goal before halftime.
Second Half Surge
The second half saw the Rams significantly ramp up their efforts, scoring four minutes after the break. Merritt Delk, Shepherd’s second-leading scorer, netted an unassisted goal at the 54:39 mark, doubling their lead. Soon after, Josie Beezel contributed another goal with support from Reagan Ackermann, bringing the score to 3-0.
In the closing minutes, Sarah Peternel sealed the game with a goal at 85:44, following a strong offensive push from the Rams. This decisive victory highlights the team’s offensive skill, as they successfully restricted Lock Haven to only three shots on goal throughout the match.
Season Overview
Shepherd University’s current record stands at 6-1-5, with their only loss this season being a narrow 1-0 defeat against Kutztown. With a total of 40 goals scored against just seven conceded, the Rams have established themselves as a formidable force in the conference.
Anaya Lozano leads the team with ten goals, accompanied by Merritt Delk with seven and Reagan Ackermann contributing five.

As the regular season approaches its conclusion, the Rams have crucial matches ahead, including a home game against West Chester on October 29 and a final home match against Bloomsburg on November 1. The season will close with an away game at Millersville on November 5.
PSAC Tournament
The PSAC tournament is scheduled to begin with quarterfinals on November 11, followed by semifinals on November 14, and the championship on November 16. The tournament will ultimately determine at least one team to represent the league in the NCAA tournament, which kicks off with first-round games on November 21.
