CARLISLE, Pa. — Following a narrow defeat in a five-set match against Salisbury University the previous night, the Dickinson College volleyball team quickly regrouped, competing again within 24 hours. The team hosted Moravian University and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg on Saturday afternoon in the Kline Center, managing to secure two impressive victories, both with a score of 3-0.
Match One: Dickinson vs. Moravian
Set Overview
In the opening set, Moravian initially surged ahead with a 5-1 lead, aided by Dickinson’s early attack errors. The Red and White responded with a series of kills from players including Emery Fishbach, Mallie Thomas, and Eliette Whittaker, eventually taking a 7-5 lead. Despite a back-and-forth struggle, Dickinson secured a 25-21 victory in the first set with final kills from Jessica Currie, Fishbach, and Kim.
Second Set
Dickinson built momentum early on, establishing a lead of 10-8 after a combination of strong performances from Fishbach and Thomas. The Devils then went on an impressive 10-4 scoring stretch, finishing the set 25-14 after contributions from Lora Flynn, Currie, Kim, Thomas, and Whittaker.
Final Set
The last set mirrored the earlier excitement, with Dickinson jumping to an early lead followed by a comeback attempt from Moravian. But the Devils closed out strong, leveraging powerful kills by Avery Butcher, Cassidy Davis, Iona Nelson, Fishbach, and Thomas, culminating in a decisive 25-18 win.

Set One
The match against the Bobcats began with an exchange of points until the score reached 9-9. Dickinson then gained momentum, thanks to Butcher’s strong serving which included two aces, propelling the team to a 22-14 lead. Ultimately, Dickinson took the first set 25-16.
Second Set
The Red and White started off strong with a 7-1 lead, demonstrating excellent teamwork and strategic plays. Despite a brief rally from Pitt-Greensburg, Dickinson remained in control and finished the set decisively at 25-13.
Final Set
An early ace from Caroline Cusson set the tone in the third set, as Dickinson quickly established a lead of 6-2. Although the Bobcats attempted to narrow the gap, Dickinson’s impressive run, highlighted by back-to-back service aces from Kylie Schner, allowed them to close the match at 25-19.
