2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships: Day 1 Highlights
New Orleans, August 8, 2025 — The first day of the women’s competition at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships showcased impressive performances, led by senior gymnast Hezly Rivera and junior competitor Caroline Moreau.
Hezly Rivera Dominates Senior Competition
Hezly Rivera of Oradell, New Jersey, representing WOGA Gymnastics, emerged as the leader of the senior women’s category with a strong all-around score of 55.600. Her performance featured the highest score on balance beam at 14.350 and the second-highest score on floor at 14.000. Rivera’s scores provided her a narrow lead of 0.200 points over Texarkana’s Joscelyn Roberson, who recorded an all-around score of 55.400.

- Joscelyn Roberson excelled with the highest scores on floor (14.150) and tied for the lead on uneven bars with Alicia Zhou at 13.650.
- Leanne Wong, competing for the University of Florida, secured third place in all-around with a score of 55.100 and also led on vault with 13.675.
Team London Triumphs in Squad Showdown
The day featured an exciting Squad Showdown where Team London, also referred to as “Team Beignet,” finished first with a total score of 164.650. This team included Rivera, Wong, and several others, demonstrating outstanding performances particularly on beam and floor.

Caroline Moreau Leads Junior Competition
In the junior division, Caroline Moreau from Keller, Texas, currently holds the top all-around score at 53.700. Her performance was bolstered by her first-place finish on floor with a score of 13.550 and strong placements in other events.
Junior Competition Standouts
- Charleigh Bullock ranks second overall with an all-around score of 53.200, achieving a top score of 14.000 on bars, the highest of the session.
- Isabella Anzola follows closely in third place with a score of 51.900 and a first-place score of 13.600 on beam.
Amia Pugh-Banks Rounds Out the Leaders
Amia Pugh-Banks secured the top score on vault among juniors with a score of 13.700.
