CAF Announces Enhanced Prize Structure

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed on Thursday a substantial increase in prize money for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2024). This tournament is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco from July 5 to July 26, 2025.

Details of the Prize Pool

In a notable move, CAF has doubled the amount awarded to the tournament’s champion and expanded the total prize pool by 45%. This brings the overall prize money to an impressive USD 3,475,000.

  • Champion: USD 1,000,000
  • Runner-Up: USD 500,000
  • Third Place: USD 350,000
  • Fourth Place: USD 300,000
  • Quarter-Finalists: USD 200,000 each

Impact on Women’s Football

This increase in prize money reflects a growing commitment by CAF to enhance women’s football on the continent. With the heightened financial incentives, participating teams can look forward to more competitive and engaging matches as they strive for excellence on the field.
