Godrej Housing Finance Launches All-Women Branch in Pune
Godrej Capital, the financial arm of the Godrej Industries Group, has taken a significant step towards gender representation in the financial industry with the inauguration of its first all-women employee branch of Godrej Housing Finance (GHF) in Pune. This initiative is part of its broader program, Aarohi.
Branch Details
Situated in Kharadi, this new branch marks GHF’s second Affordable Housing Finance location in Pune within a span of six months. The move reflects the company’s strategic expansion and its mission to promote inclusivity in key markets.
Commitment to Gender Diversity
Although the branch is designed to serve a diverse clientele, the all-female team symbolizes Godrej’s commitment to increasing women’s participation in the financial services sector. GHF intends to use this initiative as a framework for nurturing a future workforce of women professionals ready to excel in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) industry.
Affordable Loan Offerings
The new branch will provide Affordable Housing Loans starting at ₹5 lakh, with repayment terms extending up to 30 years, catering to both salaried and self-employed customers. As part of its strategy to enhance distribution, GHF plans to strengthen its network of connectors, builders, and channel partners. This approach aims to improve accessibility to affordable housing finance in less saturated markets, with a particular focus on supporting aspiring homeowners, especially women.
Aarohi Initiative: Focus on Empowerment
The Aarohi initiative serves as Godrej Capital’s platform for empowering women, recognizing them as borrowers, employees, partners, and community advocates. Since its inception, Aarohi has successfully facilitated over ₹1,000 crore in loan bookings for women and seeks to positively influence over 1 lakh women in the next five years.
Leadership Insights
Mehernosh Tata, CEO of Godrej Housing Finance, commented on this initiative, stating, “We believe diversity and inclusion are key to building trust and delivering stronger outcomes for our customers. Through Aarohi, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for women to lead and thrive, while continuing to make homeownership more accessible to families across India.”
