Investment Boost for Women’s Health Diagnostics

PinkDx, a pioneering women’s health diagnostics firm, has raised an additional $5 million in its Series A funding round, now totaling $45 million. This latest investment comes from new supporters including Blue Venture Fund, Sandbox Clinical Ventures, and BEVC, alongside earlier contributions from Catalio Capital Management, The Production Board, Mountain Group Partners, Byers Capital, and Mayo Clinic.

Focus on Gynecological Health

Headquartered in Daly City, PinkDx is focused on creating diagnostic tools aimed at women experiencing symptoms potentially indicative of gynecological cancers. Their initial test seeks to enhance diagnostic accuracy for approximately 1.5 million women across the U.S. annually who report symptoms such as bloating, pelvic discomfort, and irregular bleeding.

Accelerating Clinical Validation

Bonnie Anderson, co-founder, chairwoman, and CEO of PinkDx, expressed optimism about the progress being made. “We have made significant strides in developing our first test, and this additional funding will expedite the clinical validation process,” she stated.

A Commitment to Women’s Health

Risa Stack, Ph.D., founding partner of BEVC and a board member of PinkDx, highlighted the urgent need for innovation in women’s medical care: “Women’s healthcare needs have been historically overlooked, and PinkDx is positioned to address this gap by utilizing advanced technology to meet specific requirements while demonstrating a proven capacity to deliver clinically relevant tests.”

Transforming Diagnostic Procedure

By developing alternatives to invasive diagnostic methods, PinkDx aims to mitigate the long wait times associated with obtaining results for over 100,000 women diagnosed with gynecological cancer each year in the United States.
