In an impressive display of talent, the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners triumphed in the second round of the Seattle Regional this Friday, marking the beginning of their journey to nationals. Competing against No. 15 Auburn, Nebraska, and Illinois, Oklahoma secured first place with a final score of 198.025-196.950.
Dominant Floor Performance
Oklahoma kicked off the meet with a stellar performance on the floor, where every gymnast achieved a score of 9.90 or higher. Fifth-year senior Audrey Davis led the charge with a score of 9.90, while freshman Elle Mueller, senior Jordan Bowers, and freshman Addison Fatta matched her score. Senior Danielle Sievers achieved her season-high of 9.95, and junior Faith Torrez rounded out the rotation with an impressive 9.975. With a total of 49.625 for this event, the Sooners established an early lead, showing no signs of relinquishing their hold on first place.

Vault Challenges
The second rotation on vault presented a challenge for Oklahoma, with the highest score being a 9.875 from Torrez. The team collectively scored a 49.175, dominated by several scores of 9.800. Nevertheless, the Sooners maintained a lead, accumulating a total score of 98.800, considerably ahead of Auburn’s 98.300.
Strong Bars Performance
In the bars rotation, Oklahoma initially had a modest start, but the last three gymnasts delivered stellar performances that kept the team ahead. Torrez and Davis both earned scores of 9.95, followed closely by Bowers with her score of 9.95 as well. This combined effort brought their event total to 49.525 and increased Oklahoma’s overall score to 147.625, well ahead of Auburn’s 143.325.

A Stellar Beam Finale
Oklahoma delivered a breathtaking final rotation on beam, starting with three consecutive scores of 9.95: one each from Davis’ opening routine, Fatta’s personal best, and freshman Lily Pederson. Bowers and sophomore Keira Wells contributed with scores of 9.85, and to cap off the evening, Torrez achieved a perfect 10—the first of her career. With a remarkable event score of 49.700, Oklahoma secured their victory.

Following this impressive win, Oklahoma is set to face No. 15 Auburn once again, along with No. 7 Missouri and Arizona, in the regional final at 9 p.m. on Sunday. The upcoming meet is critical, as it offers the chance to advance to the semifinals in Fort Worth, broadcasted live on ESPN+.
