Organon Partners with Egyptian Drug Authority to Enhance Women’s Health Initiatives
Organon, a leading global healthcare firm focused on enhancing women’s health, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). This milestone agreement, which was established after the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development (PHDC’24) held in Egypt, underscores Organon’s dedication to improving family planning services and advancing the health of women throughout the country. The MOU was formalized by Tarek Abou ElEinein, the Country Lead for Organon Egypt & Levant, alongside Dr. Rasha Ziada, who serves as the Assistant to the EDA Chairman for Professional Development and Capacity Building, with Dr. Ali El Ghamrawy, the Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, in attendance.
Fostering Community Pharmacist Training for Family Planning Awareness
This collaboration centers on the training of community pharmacists across Egypt, aimed at heightening awareness surrounding family planning and empowering pharmacists to deliver effective counseling within their communities. This initiative aligns with the Egyptian government’s recent endeavors to invest in human capital and development, ultimately enhancing the overall population’s health and well-being. Organon’s contributions will include both in-person and live online training sessions, supplemented with comprehensive training materials for all phases of the program. The training series is set to commence later this year, ensuring community pharmacists are equipped to assist women in making informed decisions regarding their reproductive health.
Continuing Commitment to Women’s Health in Egypt
Organon’s dedication to addressing the critical challenges surrounding women’s health in Egypt extends well beyond this agreement. Over the past three years, the organization has actively collaborated with the Egyptian government to fortify family planning initiatives and empower women. This MOU further amplifies Organon’s commitment to enhancing healthcare capabilities across Egypt, aiming to make a tangible difference for Egyptian women and their families.
Empowering Community Pharmacists for a Healthier Society
“Our partnership with the Egyptian Drug Authority is crucial for enhancing the skills of community pharmacists nationwide,” stated Tarek Abou ElEinein from Organon. “By providing them with essential knowledge and resources, we empower these professionals to better serve the public, thereby fostering a healthier society. This collaboration is in line with our commitment to advancing women’s health and ensuring that every woman has access to safe and effective family planning solutions.”
Collaborative Efforts to Improve Health Services
The Egyptian Drug Authority emphasized that this agreement showcases their commitment to collaboration with private sector partners to enhance pharmacists’ capabilities, which ultimately contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services available to citizens. This partnership aligns with Egypt’s objectives to raise public awareness about the significance of family planning and to provide integrated healthcare solutions.
A Vision for the Future of Women’s Healthcare
Organon seeks to collaborate with various stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem to amplify its impact and elevate the standards of women’s health in Egypt, paving the way for a healthier future for every woman.
