Bhubaneswar: Financial Assistance under Subhadra Yojana Pending for Over 2.5 Lakh Beneficiaries
The Odisha government announced on Monday that more than 250,000 eligible women are yet to receive financial aid under the Subhadra Yojana due to issues related to e-KYC compliance and other essential requirements.
Requirements for Eligibility
Many eligible women have not activated their bank accounts for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) nor completed the e-KYC process. As a result, these individuals have not yet accessed the scheme’s benefits, according to a statement from the Women and Child Development (W&CD) Department.
The department has indicated that a list of these eligible beneficiaries is available at various administrative levels, including blocks, municipalities, and municipal corporations. To secure their entitlements under the Subhadra scheme, beneficiaries must check the provided list and ensure they meet the following criteria:
- Have a single holder bank account.
- Link the bank account to their Aadhaar number.
- Ensure the account is DBT enabled.
- Complete the e-KYC process via biometric verification on the Subhadra portal.
Guidance for Applicants
The Women and Child Development Department recommends that applicants visit their local banks to complete the first three tasks. The e-KYC process can be accomplished at Jana Seva Kendras or Mo Seva Kendras.
Timelines for Assistance
Upon fulfilling all requirements, the applicants can expect to receive their first installment under the Subhadra scheme before International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8.
Financial Support Released So Far
To date, the state government has disbursed Rs 5,000 each as the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana to 9.8 million eligible women throughout Odisha. The second installment is anticipated to be distributed in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.
