Bihar Minister Stresses Strong NDA Support Amidst Political Landscape Shifts
In a decisive statement made on Saturday, Prem Kumar, a BJP leader and Bihar’s Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, reaffirmed the unwavering backing for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), downplaying the political relevance of Lalu Yadav. Speaking to ANI, Kumar asserted that the people of Bihar are eager for a double-engine government that can effectively drive the state’s development forward.
Public Sentiment Against Lalu Yadav
Kumar expressed, “The public has moved away from Lalu Yadav. He no longer plays a significant role in Bihar’s political arena, as the citizens stand firmly with the NDA, yearning for a government that will enhance Bihar’s growth.” This perspective was echoed by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, who conveyed optimism regarding the NDA capturing over 225 seats in the forthcoming assembly elections, out of a total of 243.
Commitment to Coalition Stability
Paswan reassured supporters that the NDA will maintain its integrity during the assembly elections. He highlighted a coalition that includes JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar, BJP, HAM, LJP (Ram Vilas), and RLSP, all committed to establishing a robust administration.
Empowering Women Through Initiatives
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, citing initiatives such as the ‘Jeevika Didi’ scheme designed to foster societal inclusivity. Kumar proudly reflected on his past collaboration with opposition groups, reiterating his commitment to societal welfare for all communities. “We’ve worked for everyone—Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, backward communities, Dalits, and women,” he stated, while criticizing the opposition for their lack of cohesive efforts.
With these affirmations, the NDA signals a concentrated effort to unify and strengthen its political foundation in Bihar, particularly focusing on progress and empowerment for women across the state.
