TULSA, Okla. – At the American Conference Fall Championships, University of Memphis women’s tennis players Sofiia Mykhailets and Natalia Koppova showcased their skills with impressive performances. Mykhailets advanced to the Quarterfinals in singles, while Koppova fought hard but faced an early exit.
Singles Competition Highlights
Mykhailets benefitted from a first-round bye, allowing her to directly enter the round of 16. In this stage, she delivered a dominant performance against Alexia Patru from Florida Atlantic, winning decisively with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Her next match is set against Ni Xi from Charlotte, scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
Koppova, on the other hand, faced Nera Tesankic (UAB) in a thrilling three-set encounter to kick off her day. Demonstrating resilience, she clinched victory with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. However, her journey in singles ended in the round of 16, where she was defeated by Divina Ratkovic from Rice, with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Doubles Update
In doubles play, Emma Dvoracek and Clemence Thouard received a bye into the next round. They are set to face the duo of Francesca Miglio and Melisa Senli from South Florida tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
