The Minot State Beavers are riding high into a crucial weekend following a hard-fought 3-2 triumph over Wayne State. This victory showcased the team’s diverse attacking strength, with Leah Salas, Anna Miotto, and Sabrina Amezcua each contributing goals. Prior to this win, the Beavers faced a narrow 2-1 defeat against Augustana State, where Amezcua scored the team’s solitary goal.
This upcoming weekend presents a blend of home and away contests for the Beavers. On Friday, October 17, they will welcome Northern State at 5 PM for a home game, aiming to build on their recent success in front of enthusiastic local supporters. Following this match, the Beavers will visit the University of Jamestown on Sunday, October 19, marking their first confrontation with Jamestown since the latter joined the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). This encounter carries added significance as both teams vie for favorable conference standings halfway through the season.
Additionally, on Thursday, October 16, Minot State volleyball is set to compete against Jamestown at 6 PM in Jamestown, N.D. Meanwhile, the ACHA has released its initial national ranking for women’s hockey, with Minot State making an impressive appearance in the standings.
