Olivia Miles Recognized as a Contender for Prestigious Naismith Trophy
FORT WORTH – Olivia Miles is firmly in the spotlight as she vies for national player of the year accolades. The standout guard has been included among the 50 players named to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Watch List.
A Series of Prestigious Accolades
This latest recognition adds to Miles’ impressive collection of preseason awards. Recently, she was also featured on the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award Watch List. The 5-foot-10 graduate student has garnered additional acclaim, including:
- Preseason Associated Press honorable mention All-American status earlier this month
- Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year
- Unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team by the league’s head coaches
A Consistent Contender
Miles has consistently been in contention for the Naismith Trophy, earning consideration for four consecutive seasons. In fact, she was among the 10 semifinalists for the award last season (2024-25). This continuing recognition underscores her development and influence in collegiate basketball.
Historical Significance in TCU Women’s Basketball
The New Jersey native has made her mark in the TCU women’s basketball program, becoming the fourth player in the team’s history to receive preseason Naismith Trophy recognition. Notably, she is the second player in successive years to achieve this honor, following TCU All-American Hailey Van Lith, who was also a semifinalist in 2024-25.
Upcoming Season Debut
Miles will take to the court for the Horned Frogs for the first time this season on November 6, as No. 17 TCU opens the 2025-26 campaign against North Carolina A&T. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m.
