ANN ARBOR, MI – Michigan women’s soccer head coach Jennifer Klein has announced the signing of five promising student-athletes as part of the team’s latest recruitment class. The group includes midfielders Torah Betteridge and Ellie Lesser, forward Sloane May, defender Anabelle Egeland, and goalkeeper Brooklyn Reid, hailing from four different states and a Canadian province.
This new class is poised to enhance the Wolverines’ roster, bringing a blend of skill sets across various positions:
Torah Betteridge | Midfielder | 5-7 | Calgary, Alberta (Vancouver Rise)
- Ranked fifth in the Canadian Top 100 for the 2026 class, according to First Touch Football
- Played all four matches for Vancouver Rise FC during the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup, logging 341 minutes on the field
- Contributed to Vancouver’s League1 Inter-Provincial Championship victories in 2023 and 2024
- Represented Canada in the CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 International Friendlies
Anabelle Egeland | Defender | 5-8 | Long Grove, IL (Eclipse)
- Competed for Eclipse Select SC in the ECNL and was part of the 2025 Continental Tire ECNL National Team Selection Game
- Earned 2025 First Team All-State honors from Chicagoland Soccer
- Played a key role in Stevenson High School’s defense, achieving seven shutouts in her senior year, along with four goals and two assists
- Ranked as the No. 1 defender and No. 4 overall Midwest recruit by Top Drawer Soccer
- Awarded NSC All-Conference and Daily Herald All-Area honors
Ellie Lesser | Midfielder | 5-8 | Atlanta, GA (TopHat)
- Played for NASA TopHat GA Gold and reached the final four of the Girls Academy League Champions Cup
- Recorded 17 points, including six goals and five assists, during the 2025 season
- A four-year letterwinner at Riverwood International Charter School, named to the All-Region First Team in 2024
- Scored over 30 goals in her junior year, propelling her team to a state playoff appearance
Sloane May | Forward | 5-9 | Fishers, IN (Indy Premier)
- Representative for Indy Premier SC for 11 years, participating in the Girls Academy
- Selected for the Top Drawer Soccer Girls Academy National Talent ID Roster in 2025
- Named to the 2025 High School All-American team
- Contributed to Hamilton Southeastern High School’s success in winning the 2025 3A State Championship
- Recognized as the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2025
Brooklyn Reid | Goalkeeper | 5-11 | Anchorage, AK (Shattuck St. Mary’s/Alaska Thorns)
- Served as the backup goalkeeper for the Portland Thorns during a friendly match against Seattle
- Participated with the U.S. Youth Soccer ODP National Team in Spain in 2025
- Attended Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Minnesota
- A vital player for the Alaska Thorns in the Alaska Youth Soccer Conference
- Recognized by Top Drawer Soccer as one of the Best U19 Girls outside of ECNL and GA
