LEWISBURG, Pa. – Shaelan McNally, a standout sophomore runner from Bucknell University, has achieved remarkable recognition for her performance in the 2025 season. This week, the Patriot League office awarded her the title of Women’s Runner of the Week for the second time, underscoring her outstanding contributions to the team.
During the recent Jasper Invitational, McNally delivered an exceptional performance, finishing the 6k race in a personal-best time of 20:08.8. Her victory at the event was notable, as she outpaced the competition by a significant margin of 18 seconds. This achievement not only marked a personal milestone but also eclipsed her previous best of 21:06.3, set at the Lehigh Invitational on August 31, by an impressive 58 seconds.
McNally’s first-place finish was pivotal for the Bucknell Bison, contributing to the team’s strong showing. Bucknell secured second place in the meet, outperforming Marist by 86 points and coming within just seven points of meeting winner Quinnipiac.
With this latest victory, McNally joins a select group of athletes as she has now won three collegiate meets, including the 2024 Father Bede Invitational, the 2025 Lehigh Invitational, and the recent Jasper Invitational. Her consistent performance this season has not gone unnoticed, making her the first Bucknell Bison runner since Colleen Buckley in 2018 to earn the league’s weekly honor twice within a single season.
Looking ahead, the Bucknell team is set to return to competition following a bye week. McNally and her teammates will next compete on September 27 at the Youngstown State Invitational, where they hope to build on their recent successes.
