COMMERCE – The women’s basketball team at East Texas A&M University is thrilled to announce the addition of Tiani Ellison, who joins as a transfer from Missouri Western State University.
Hailing from Durant, Oklahoma, Ellison was recognized as a nominee for the MIAA Freshman of the Year and played an integral role on the team that clinched the conference championship during the 2023-24 season. Throughout her debut year, she participated in 30 games, starting in seven of those, while averaging an impressive 8.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Her defensive prowess was highlighted by her exceptional 31 blocks, alongside 17 assists and 17 steals, making her a key asset to the team.
Ellison’s high school career at Silo High School was marked by immense success, where she amassed over 2,000 career points. A four-time Team MVP, she was honored with all-tournament selections six times and led her team to the state championship game as runners-up once. Remarkably, she made appearances in the state tournament all four years of her high school career. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Ellison was a distinguished member of the National Honor Society, ranking as the second-highest scorer in her school’s history.
Pursuing a major in graphic design, Tiani is the daughter of Fasiri Ellison and BJ Robinson-Ellison. Athleticism runs in her family, as both of her parents were college basketball players, along with several relatives, including her aunt Crystal Robinson, aunt Brandi McWilliams, grandmother Nancy Robinson, and cousin Jaxson Robinson, who all graced the court. Additionally, her uncle Attiya Ellison and cousin Tyson Ellison showcased their talents in college football.
We are excited to welcome Tiani to the East Texas A&M University family as she embarks on this new chapter in her athletic and academic journey.
