Cal State Fullerton Titans Women’s Basketball Concludes Season with Loss to UC Riverside
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Titans women’s basketball team faced a tough ending to their 2024-25 season, falling 61-51 to UC Riverside on Saturday at the SRC Arena.
With leading scorer Aaliyah Stanton sidelined due to a broken finger, the Titans showed resilience as underclassmen Eva Levingston and Jana Falsdottir stepped up. Levingston achieved a career-high of 17 points, while Falsdottir contributed 14 points in only her third career start. Senior Aixchel Hernandez nearly secured a double-double, finishing with 8 points and 11 rebounds. The Titans shot a slightly better percentage from the field, at 39.2%, compared to the Highlanders’ 37.9%. The Highlanders dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Titans 39 to 29, including 14 offensive rebounds to the Titans’ 7.

Season Overview
The Titans concluded the season with a 7-23 record overall and a 5-15 mark in conference play. They demonstrated their potential with a strong stretch from late January to mid-February, achieving a record of 5-1 during that period. However, they could not sustain that momentum, ending the season on a 0-5 skid. With two seniors, Aixchel Hernandez and Emily Strachan, graduating, the Titans look ahead with optimism as six regular players were underclassmen, including four freshmen. Notably, Stanton (14.3 PPG) and Levingston (8.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG) are expected to be key contributors for the upcoming season.
