Kris Statlander Discusses the Future of All-Women’s Events in AEW
During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Kris Statlander, a prominent star of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), shared her thoughts on the potential for an all-women’s wrestling event in the company. Statlander believes that any initiative that increases the frequency of wrestling showcases is beneficial for both fans and athletes alike.
Statements from Kris Statlander
“I think anything is a good option,” Statlander articulated. “More wrestling is always great, having the amount of wrestling that we do have right now is wonderful. Getting to showcase as many of the amazing talent that we have, men and women, is awesome.” She added, “I am not a person who, you know, tries to lead the charge on many things. I kind of just see where things go because you never know where anything can go. Everything in life is unpredictable.”
Statlander concluded by expressing hope for greater visibility of women’s talent in wrestling, noting that “everything comes with the time, everything has its plan and you know, it is what it is.”
Upcoming Event: All In: Texas
In addition to her remarks on women’s events, Statlander recently made headlines by winning the International Championship at Pro Wrestling Eve in London. She is also set to participate as the No. 1 entrant in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match at AEW’s major event, All In: Texas, taking place on July 12 at the Globe Life Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
AEW’s Competitive Landscape
This year’s All In: Texas faces competition from a WWE event, as TKO Group (WWE’s parent company) has scheduled an all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, for the same weekend. This scheduling decision has raised some eyebrows among wrestling fans.
Match Highlights at All In: Texas
All In: Texas promises exciting matchups, including a title defense by AEW Women’s World Champion ‘Timeless Toni Storm’ against TBS Champion Mercedes Moné. The winner will subsequently face off against the victor of the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match.
Fans can catch the action live on pay-per-view starting at 3:00 p.m. ET.
