Ellie Kozich Shines at DeSales Invitational

Event Summary

On October 11, 2025, the DeSales University women’s cross country team showcased their talent at the DeSales Invitational, securing a commendable second place overall. The standout of the event was sophomore Ellie Kozich, who claimed the individual title in a strong field of competitors.

Remarkable Performance

Kozich completed the challenging 6K course with an impressive time of 22:01.7. This achievement marked the second fastest recorded time in the history of the DeSales course, closely trailing the record set by Veronica Wheeler in 2016, who finished in under 22 minutes.

First-Year Contributions

The Bulldogs’ depth was evident as the next six finishers were all first-year students:

  • Hannah Miller: 9th place, finishing at 25:01.5
  • Emily Harrington: 14th place, with a time of 25:39.3
  • Amanda Witters: 17th place, crossing the line at 25:52.7

  • Danielle Boland: 21st place, with a time of 26:07.7
  • Angela Crowley: 24th place, completing the course in 26:23.6

Looking Ahead

The DeSales University women’s cross country team will compete next at the Border Battle, taking place at Rowan University, where they hope to build on their recent success.
