ATLANTA — Kiersen Korienek, a seasoned midfielder and current player for Michigan Tech, has earned a position on the U.S. Women’s Futsal National Team. This announcement was made following the completion of the April training camp, which served as the final opportunity for selection ahead of the upcoming roster for the 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship.
Korienek, chosen by head coach Diego Burato, is one of the 14 athletes selected for this prestigious event, scheduled to take place in Guatemala City, Guatemala, from April 28 to May 4 at the Domo Polideportivo.
Joining Korienek on the roster are Ashley Henderson, along with her, they are the newest additions to the team after performing well during their inaugural Futsal WNT camp earlier this month in Rome, Georgia.
Expressing her excitement, Korienek stated, “Being named to the U.S. Women’s Futsal National Team is an incredible honor. Representing my country on this stage and at this level is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time. I’m so grateful to play alongside such an amazing and talented group of women. I’m thankful for everyone who has supported me on this journey — from coaches and teammates to family and friends. I’m beyond excited to wear the crest and play for my country.”
