Kejriwal Focuses on Women as Delhi Assembly Elections Approach
Arvind Kejriwal, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is ramping up his engagement initiatives in preparation for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections set for February 2025. A significant aspect of his campaign is the outreach to women voters, a demographic he aims to connect with effectively.
During a recent padyatra in the Badarpur constituency, Kejriwal highlighted a survey revealing that 60% of women in Delhi intend to support his party. In a heartfelt appeal, he encouraged the remaining 40% to consider AAP, acknowledging the necessity to rectify the issues that have hindered their backing.
To further his commitment to women’s empowerment, Kejriwal introduced the ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna’ last week, a financial assistance program designed to provide women with monthly support. He assured voters that this financial aid would see an increase following the elections, emphasizing his dedication to improving the lives of women across the capital.
Kejriwal did not shy away from criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the slow pace of development in areas such as Badarpur, which is represented by BJP’s MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. He pledged to expedite pending projects to ensure better infrastructure and services for the residents. With the AAP announcing candidates for the forthcoming elections—including Ram Singh Netaji for Badarpur—Kejriwal and other party leaders are actively participating in padyatras to bolster their appeal to voters, especially women.
As AAP gears up for the elections, their clear focus on women’s issues underlines the party’s intent to create a more inclusive political landscape.
