Kejriwal Amplifies Focus on Women Voters Ahead of Delhi Elections
As the February 2025 Delhi Assembly elections approach, Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has ramped up efforts to connect with female voters. This initiative highlights the pivotal role women play in shaping the electoral landscape.
During a recent padayatra in the Badarpur constituency, Kejriwal shared insights from a survey indicating that 60% of women in Delhi support the AAP. He passionately appealed to the remaining 40% to reconsider their voting choices, stating, “There must be some shortcoming in my penance that 40 percent of women are not voting for me.”
In a significant move aimed at empowering women, Kejriwal introduced the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna. Under this scheme, women in Delhi will receive a financial aid of Rs 1,000 per month, with an anticipated increase to Rs 2,100. This initiative not only addresses economic support but also recognizes women’s contributions to society.
Additionally, Kejriwal criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its local MLA for hindering development efforts in the Badarpur area. He assured constituents that under AAP governance, projects will resume and progress will be made, emphasizing a future that prioritizes women’s needs and voices.
This focused outreach demonstrates AAP’s commitment to addressing the concerns and aspirations of women, reinforcing their crucial role in the upcoming elections.
