Recent Game Highlights

In an impressive display, the 12th-ranked Hope College volleyball team achieved a decisive victory over Adrian College, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-14. This win marked their tenth consecutive victory, elevating their overall record to 14-4 and a perfect 3-0 in MIAA competitions.

Junior middle blocker Kamryn Burbridge, hailing from Grand Haven, Michigan, had an outstanding performance, not only securing a career-high four aces but also matching the highest number of kills in the match with eight. Burbridge maintained an impressive hitting percentage of .400, showcasing her effectiveness on the court. She was closely supported by senior outside hitter Brooke Fox from Saunemin, Illinois, who also contributed significantly with eight kills.

Another key player was sophomore middle blocker Olivia Wyma from Hartland, Wisconsin, who recorded seven kills and led the team in blocks with four. Senior setter Lauren Lee from Plymouth, Michigan, facilitated the team’s offense with a total of 31 assists, ensuring the team’s aggressive attack continued to thrive.

Defensively, Hope College dominated with a significant advantage in digs, finishing the match with a plus-15 margin against the Bulldogs. Junior Kathryn Oates from Liberty Township, Ohio, set the pace for the defense with a team-best 13 digs, while senior Tess Herendeen from Fort Wayne, Indiana, contributed 12 digs.

Upcoming Tournament Information

The Flying Dutch are set to return to action with a four-team tournament hosted at DeVos Fieldhouse on October 11-12. Their schedule is as follows:

  • October 11: vs. Millikin University at 6:30 PM
  • October 12: vs. Coe College at 11:00 AM
  • October 12: vs. 8th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 1:30 PM
