EDINBURG, Texas – In a thrilling display of skill and poise, freshman forward Jade Jones secured a dramatic victory for the University of Houston Women’s Basketball team with a game-winning basket against UTRGV, concluding the contest with a score of 65-63. This win marks Houston’s first road triumph of the season, a notable achievement following their last road victory against Oklahoma State on February 17, 2024.
Houston (3-2) relied heavily on Jones during the crucial final moments. Following an inbounds play, Jones delivered a layup just before the final buzzer, capping off an impressive performance where she led her team with 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She made her first collegiate start in this match.
