Graduate student Kei Kitamura executed a corner kick that found senior defender Ella Macko, who headed the ball into the net, marking her second goal of the season.
Building Momentum
McDaniel struggled to regain possession, recording their first shot in the 22nd minute. Blue Jay freshman goalie Ella Kruntchev efficiently managed the shot from Chloe Workman, stemming from a McDaniel free kick. Continuously pressing forward, Carolyn Johnson came close to doubling the lead shortly thereafter but just missed the target. However, she did find the net four minutes later, capitalizing on a cross from Maria Romo-Nichols to score her fifth goal in six games, bringing the score to 2-0.
Secure Victory
Continuing their assault, the Blue Jays extended their advantage to 3-0 just minutes later in the half. Freshman Lena Olbrys scored her inaugural career goal, deftly redirecting a cross from graduate student Tatum Adamson. The three-goal cushion remained intact going into halftime, as the Blue Jays maintained control throughout the second half, taking nine of the ten shots.
In the 66th minute, Olbrys struck again, securing her second goal of the match. Senior midfielder Megha Salvi applied pressure on the McDaniel defense, delivering a low cross that was mishandled by the substitute goalie, Mack Langlo. Olbrys finished the opportunity, resulting in a decisive 4-0 victory for Johns Hopkins.
