Celebrating Exceptional Female Artists at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the music industry, female artists such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie and the K-pop group aespa are being honored at the upcoming 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards. According to a report from February 12, Billboard has chosen to celebrate these remarkable women who have made significant strides in the music world.
Jennie’s Global Impact
BLACKPINK member Jennie has been designated as a Global Force due to her remarkable achievements as a K-pop soloist. She has consistently topped global charts and captivated audiences worldwide. Her latest single, “Mantra,” released in October of last year, has sparked immense excitement among fans and achieved various records, notably becoming the highest-charting song by a Korean female solo artist on the UK Singles Chart and breaking into the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200 lists. Additionally, it is recognized as the top-peaking song by an Asian female artist on US iTunes in 2024.
Upcoming Honors and New Releases
Following the launch of her debut solo album, “Ruby,” on March 7, Jennie’s influence in the music industry will only amplify as she receives recognition at the live Women in Music event in Los Angeles on March 29. The pre-release tracks from her album, “Zen” and “Love Hangover,” have already garnered admiration, showcasing her artistic prowess.
Aespa’s Thriving Journey
Alongside Jennie, the members of aespa—Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning—will also be celebrated during this prestigious occasion. They will receive the Group of the Year award at the Hollywood Park’s YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. The group has recently expanded their international tour while promoting their debut studio album, “Armageddon – The 1st Album,” which was released in May 2024. Their collaboration with Grimes on a remix of their hit single “Supernova,” featured on the EP “iScreaM Vol. 33: Supernova / Armageddon Remixes,” has further elevated their status in the music industry.
