Northwestern Women’s Tennis Coach Resigns After Seven Successful Seasons
Jamie De Jong, the head coach for Northwestern women’s tennis, has officially resigned from her position, as announced by the university.

In expressing gratitude for De Jong’s leadership, Vice President for Athletics Tony Hoops remarked, “I’m thankful for the contributions and commitment Jamie made to our women’s tennis program. Jamie led with passion and lived out the mission of Raider Athletics the past seven years in her leadership role.”
Coaching Achievements
Since taking the reins in 2018, De Jong has significantly impacted the Raiders’ performance, leading the team to an impressive 41 wins during her tenure. Under her guidance, the Raiders qualified for the GPAC tournament four times across seven seasons, and she coached 23 athletes to All-GPAC honors in singles or doubles competitions, alongside 34 NAIA Scholar Athletes.
Reflections on Her Tenure
De Jong expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards those who supported the women’s tennis program throughout her time at the university. “I want to genuinely thank all who have consistently supported, encouraged and prayed for our women’s tennis program over these past seven years,” she stated. “It’s been so encouraging to know people care. Together, we have built up a solid program!”
Recent Season Performance
This past season, the Red Raiders concluded with a 9-10 overall record and achieved a 3-3 mark in the conference, finishing fourth in the GPAC standings.
Personal Farewell
Reflecting on her experience, De Jong mentioned, “Mostly, I will miss the girls. They are all so unique and have their own paths, but what brings us together is the love for the Lord and the love of this game.”
Search for Successor
The university has initiated a search for De Jong’s successor immediately, aiming to continue building on the strong foundation established over the past seven years.
