PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women’s volleyball team made headlines this week by sweeping the Ivy League’s weekly awards. Sydney Draper has earned the title of Player of the Week, while Olivia Foye has been recognized as Co-Rookie of the Week.
The standout performances from Draper and Foye were pivotal in securing a decisive 3-0 victory over the University of Pennsylvania on September 26, which marked Princeton’s first conference match of the season. The match scores were 37-35, 25-21, and 25-15, showcasing Princeton’s dominance.
Sydney Draper’s Exceptional Performance
Sydney Draper delivered an impressive display, recording 52 assists—the highest number of assists by any player in the nation during a three-set match this season. Draper averaged an outstanding 17.33 assists per set, in addition to compiling 16 digs, translating to a 5.33 digs-per-set average. She also contributed three kills and one block to her team’s success.
Olivia Foye’s Career-High Digs
Freshman Olivia Foye also made a significant impact in the match, achieving a personal best of 23 digs, which breaks down to an average of 7.67 digs per set against Penn. Foye not only excelled defensively but also added six assists to her tally, demonstrating her versatility on the court.
