Truist Supports Wake Forest Women’s Athletics with $30,000 Contribution
Truist Financial Corporation, a key partner of Wake Forest Women’s Athletics, has pledged a generous contribution of $30,000 to support the university’s Her Victory campaign during the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative aims to enhance the visibility and success of women athletes across Wake Forest’s various sports programs.
Launch of Her Victory Campaign
Initiated in the fall of 2024, the Her Victory campaign focuses on celebrating the achievements of female student-athletes by tracking their individual performances throughout the season. With every milestone reached, Truist committed to making contributions that reflect the achievements of these talented athletes.
Enhancement of the In Her Wake Initiative
This donation plays a crucial role in bolstering the In Her Wake Initiative, which was established in February 2024. This campaign is designed to elevate women’s athletics at Wake Forest by providing essential support, including scholarship funding and personal development opportunities.
Since its inception, the initiative has attracted over $37 million in donations, with aspirations to surpass $100 million by 2029, further enriching the experiences of female student-athletes.
Community Impact and Commitment
“We are grateful to Truist for their continued investment in Wake Forest Women’s Athletics and Her Victory,” stated John Currie, Vice President & Director of Athletics. “Their $30,000 contribution is not just a testament to the exceptional performances of our female student-athletes—it’s a meaningful step forward in our commitment to providing a World Class Student-Athlete Experience for women in college athletics.”
Truist’s partnership will continue with the Her Victory campaign into the 2025-26 season, with competitive events beginning in August 2025.
