GW Women’s Basketball Welcomes Finlay Clark as Director of Player Development

In an exciting development for the George Washington University women’s basketball team, Head Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan has officially announced the appointment of Finlay Clark as the new Director of Player Development. This addition marks a significant step as the coaching staff prepares for their inaugural season at Foggy Bottom.

Background and Experience

Clark joins GW after a productive stint with the University of Alabama’s women’s basketball program, where he served as a graduate assistant. During his time with the Crimson Tide, he played a vital role in various aspects, including:

  • Recording and distributing practice footage to assist coaches and players.
  • Supporting gameplay analysis through opponent scouting and player development initiatives.
  • Contributing to team travel, recruiting visits, and camp planning.
  • Supervising the activities of the student managers associated with the program.

Before his tenure at Alabama, Clark gained valuable experience as a student manager for the Texas A&M women’s basketball team. Beginning in the fall of 2021, he swiftly advanced to Head Student Manager by the fall of 2022. His responsibilities included:

  • Leading a team of student managers.
  • Acting as a liaison with the facility operations staff.
  • Coordinating with visiting teams to fulfill their requirements.
  • Managing inventory and ordering program equipment.

Educational Qualifications

Clark is equipped with a solid academic foundation, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 2023, complemented by a minor in Communication. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Master of Science in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Sport Management from Alabama in 2025.

His diverse experience and educational background position him well to contribute meaningfully to the GW women’s basketball program as it embarks on a new chapter under Coach Adeduntan’s leadership.
