Students will be encouraged to create prototypes, secure patents, publish research findings, establish indexed journals, and take part in technical exhibitions, presentations, and workshops.
Empowerment Through the IETE Students Forum
Khammam: The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) has inaugurated its Students Forum at the Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women in Khammam, alongside a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.
Chairman of the college, Katepalli Naveen Babu, emphasized that the IETE Students Forum will provide women in electronics and telecommunication engineering with an invaluable platform to engage in technical education and connect with industry experts. This initiative is aimed at exposing students to the latest advancements in the field, thereby enhancing their academic and career trajectories.
Commitment to Scientific Advancement
Dr. B. Surya Prasad Rao, Chairman of the IETE Vijayawada centre, remarked that established in 1953, the IETE is committed to advancing science and technology in the domains of electronics, telecommunications, information technology, and computer science. The Indian Union Ministry of Science and Technology has recognized IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO), and plans are underway for the establishment of an incubation center at the college.
Encouraging Innovation and Collaboration
Students will be expected to engage in developing prototypes, secure patents, publish research papers, and create indexed journals. Participation in technical exhibitions, presentations, and workshops will also be encouraged, with credits assigned for such efforts.
Enhancing Institutional Reputation
Dr. Sheikh Riazuddin, the IETE secretary, stated that the establishment of the IETE chapter on campus will significantly elevate the college’s standing and strengthen its ties with the industry. The IETE Vijayawada centre is already active with 50 ISF chapters, and there will be awards granted to the leading chapter.
Among those present at the launch were college principal Dr. B. Gopal, academic director Atluri Venkataramana, and heads of departments, including D. Ramesh (Electronics and Communication), Injam Narasimha Rao (Computer Science), M. Venkateswara Rao (CSM and AID), and IQAC coordinator N. Jayamma.
