MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals women’s basketball team faced a tough loss against UC Davis, falling 65-58 in a hard-fought game at the ICCU Arena in Moscow on Wednesday.
Idaho showcased strong potential, leading by as much as 14 points. However, despite this early advantage, they struggled offensively, shooting only 31.3 percent from the field, while also facing a rebounding deficit for the first time this season.
Olivia Nelson stood out for the Vandals, scoring 20 points, marking her second consecutive 20-point performance. Jennifer Aadland also had a noteworthy game, securing a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Vandals went into halftime with a 26-20 lead and began the second half with a promising 10-2 run. Yet, UC Davis surged back, closing the third quarter on a 16-1 run, shifting the momentum to take a 44-40 lead into the final period. The Aggies maintained their advantage and managed to secure a seven-point victory.
This defeat marked Idaho’s first loss at home and snapped their impressive seven-game winning streak. Looking ahead, the Vandals are set to return to action on Saturday, traveling to Cal State Northridge for a matchup scheduled for 2 p.m., which will be broadcast on ESPN+.
