Breanne Hall Appointed Head Coach of Nebraska Women’s Golf Program
Lincoln – The Nebraska Cornhuskers have announced the appointment of Breanne Hall as the new head coach for the women’s golf program, as disclosed by Director of Athletics Troy Dannen on May 15. Hall, a three-time Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Coach of the Year, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to this prestigious role.
Excitement for a New Chapter
Expressing enthusiasm about her new position, Hall stated, “I am incredibly honored and grateful to accept the position as head women’s golf coach at the University of Nebraska. I want to sincerely thank Director of Athletics Troy Dannen, Deputy AD/Senior Woman Administrator Kristen Brown, and Associate Director of Compliance Jena Johnson for their belief in me and the vision we share for this program.”
A Legacy of Success
Hall previously enjoyed a successful tenure at Illinois State, where she secured back-to-back MVC Coach-of-the-Year honors and led the Redbirds to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four years. Her accolades include:
- 2022 MVC Coach of the Year
- Team victories in three MVC championships (2022, 2024, 2025)
- Coaching three MVC Golfers of the Year during her tenure
Strong Foundation
Under Hall’s leadership, the Illinois State team not only claimed the MVC title but also excelled at the NCAA level. In 2025, her team won the MVC championship by a commanding 31 strokes. The success of her players is evidenced by multiple All-MVC selections:
- Jinyoung Yun – Two-time MVC Golfer of the Year
- Morgan Jones – MVC Newcomer of the Year
- Elise Fennell – MVC Freshman of the Year
Pioneering Roles
Prior to her time at Illinois State, Hall made history as the first head coach of the women’s golf program at UNC Asheville, leading the team to admirable achievements in its inaugural seasons. Under her guidance, the Bulldogs recorded significant improvements and clinched two tournament titles.
A Rich Personal History
Hall is not only a notable coach but also a former competitive golfer. She was a three-time All-MAC selection during her collegiate career at Toledo, where she began her journey in golf. Hall has also been recognized as a PGA Class A member since 2012 and has gained extensive experience in professional golf instruction.
Looking Ahead
Hall steps into her role following the retirement of Jeanne Sutherland, becoming just the sixth head coach in the 50-year history of the Nebraska women’s golf program. Dannen stated, “We are thrilled to have Breanne Hall join us as the head coach of our women’s golf program.” He believes that her strong connections and experience will significantly contribute to the future of the program.
As Hall embarks on this new journey, there is great anticipation for what lies ahead for Nebraska Women’s Golf. Her commitment to building a program founded on excellence aligns perfectly with the traditions and pride associated with Husker Athletics.
