Authorities have successfully dismantled a human trafficking operation linked to multiple massage parlors across Oakland and Wayne counties. This initiative has led to criminal charges against two women: Chunxiu Xu, aged 46, from Farmington Hills, and Runping Huang, aged 61, from Southfield.
Xu is charged with operating a human trafficking enterprise and transportation of individuals for prostitution, while Huang faces similar charges and is also accused of accepting earnings from prostitution. Both women are currently detained at the Oakland County Jail, with bonds set at $150,000 for Xu and $50,000 for Huang.

The arrests follow a six-month investigation conducted by the SONIC task force, which revealed suspected human trafficking and money laundering activities at several massage parlors located in Novi, Farmington Hills, and Livonia. During the investigation, law enforcement uncovered that numerous women, many of whom were reportedly brought in from other states, were allegedly coerced into performing sexual acts in exploitative conditions.
Additionally, a third individual has been apprehended as a suspect in this criminal operation; however, no formal charges have been announced against them as of yet.
This coordinated enforcement action was made possible through collaborative efforts involving the police departments of Novi, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, and Shelby Township, in conjunction with organizations like Common Ground, Care House of Oakland County, and the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Xu’s legal involvement is being processed through the 46th District Court in Southfield, while Huang’s case is under the 52-1 District Court in Novi. Both individuals have probable cause conferences scheduled for June 11.
