Heart & Sole Run/Walk Empowers Women in Columbia
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — On a vibrant Saturday, nearly 700 women congregated in Columbia to embrace fitness and community spirit at the revitalized Heart & Sole Run/Walk event.
Return of a Beloved Event
Following a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Heart & Sole Women’s Five Miler made its much-anticipated return. This event not only celebrates athleticism but also promotes women’s health and wellness.
Event Highlights and Features
Set within the picturesque Gills Creek Memorial Park in Forest Acres, the race traversed a scenic neighborhood route, providing an enjoyable backdrop for participants. This year’s offerings included:
- A 5-mile run/walk, which for the first time featured chip timing for participants.
- A 3.5-mile fitness walk that maintained a more relaxed, untimed format.
Community Focused Experience
Organizers emphasized that the event would showcase important aspects of women’s health, wellness, and community support, creating a space for empowerment and connection.
For those interested, event photos will be available to capture the spirit and energy of the day.
