In a perfect scenario for Buffalo Bills enthusiasts, Hailee Steinfeld would be in attendance at the Super Bowl this Sunday, passionately supporting her fiancé and NFL MVP, Josh Allen. Instead, she’ll be making waves with her debut in a Super Bowl commercial. No big deal!
“This is such an important moment for both of us, personally and professionally. It’s truly a time for celebration,” the 28-year-old expresses to Women’s Health. “Being part of a Super Bowl commercial has long been on my bucket list. This is incredibly exciting!”
Hailee stars alongside comedian Wanda Sykes in Novartis’ “Your Attention, Please” campaign, set to premiere during the big game on February 9. This impactful advertisement encourages viewers to become informed about breast health, screenings, and breast cancer risks.
The initiative holds personal significance for Hailee, who has witnessed the effects of breast cancer on many loved ones. To reduce her own risk of late-stage diagnosis, she has completed a breast cancer risk assessment and discussed her family’s medical history with her mother. “Understanding your risk is incredibly empowering,” she shares.
With the start of a new year, Hailee emphasizes health and wellness. Here’s a look into her routines, from workouts to hydration habits.
Her Dad as a Personal Trainer
Hailee’s father, Peter, is a seasoned personal trainer with an impressive roster of clients including Madonna and Ozzy Osbourne. Whenever Hailee stumbles upon a new workout trend, Peter helps her evaluate its efficacy or whether it aligns with her fitness goals.
“I’ll ask him about a new piece of equipment or workout regimen I saw. They often seem overly complex, but he simplifies it based on what I want to achieve,” she explains.
Fitness Routine: Three to Five Days a Week
When at home in California, Hailee trains with Peter five days a week. On the road, it poses a challenge, but he has instilled in her the ability to maximize workouts wherever she is.
“My dad emphasizes that you don’t need a gym to get a good workout. You can improvise with everyday items,” she notes.
She prefers full-body circuit training to stay engaged. “I appreciate variety; repeating the same exercises bores me quickly. So, I keep my routine fresh and adaptable,” she adds.
Workout for Mental Clarity
While sweating it out may not be her favorite activity, she loves the rush of endorphins. “The feeling post-workout is unbeatable. It has become more of a mental priority for me than a physical one, although the physical perks are a nice bonus,” she explains.
As a result, Hailee doesn’t stress over hitting a specific number of workouts each week. Instead, it depends on how much time she can allocate. “Even a quick 15-minute session is effective,” she states.
Simple Meal Preparation
To fuel her active lifestyle, Hailee opts for uncomplicated meals. “I’ve started cooking more, and understanding food preparation is crucial,” she says. “I prefer a straightforward mix of protein, carbs, veggies, and a refreshing green juice or salad.”
Typically, she has oatmeal for breakfast and selects a protein-rich recipe to enjoy for lunch and dinner over a few weeks.
Currently, she’s focused on increasing her water intake. “That’s where it all begins,” she adds. For snacks, she chooses hydrating fruits like watermelon and honeydew.
Outdoor Workouts to Alleviate Stress
In stressful times, Hailee turns to her strong support system, including family and Josh, but she also finds solace outdoors. “Movement and nature are vital for my well-being,” she affirms.
If the weather isn’t cooperative, she resorts to journaling as an outlet. “Writing helps me tremendously. The idea of putting thoughts down on paper, tearing them up, and letting go of them is therapeutic,” she explains.
Looking forward to seeing you shine on Sunday, Hailee!
