Georgia Women’s Golf: Season Overview and Transfer Updates
2024–25 Season Recap
The 2024–25 season marked a significant adjustment year for the Georgia women’s golf team, guided by first-year head coach Erika Brennan. Demonstrating resilience, the Bulldogs secured notable placements throughout the season:
- 2nd place at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
- 6th place at the Chattanooga Classic
- 12th place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
- 3rd place at the San Diego State Classic
- 10th place at the Collegiate Invitational at GCC in Guadalajara, Mexico
- 16th place at the SEC Championship
This season highlighted the team’s growth and adaptability as they navigated challenges under new leadership.
Roster Changes Ahead of 2025–26 Season
As the Bulldogs prepare for the next season, they will welcome three transfers: Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, Maria Garcia, and Sydney Givens. The team currently consists of seven players due to the graduation of Kate Song and Chantal El Chaib. These newcomers are expected to enhance team depth and competitiveness:
- Maria Eidhagen Harrouch: A graduate transfer from the University of Colorado, she has shown impressive performance, leading her previous team in par-or-better rounds.
- Maria Garcia: Transferring from the University of New Mexico, she contributed significantly to her previous team with a commendable scoring average.
- Sydney Givens: Another transfer from the University of Colorado, she led her team in scoring average during her freshman year, indicating her potential impact on the Bulldogs.
Player Profiles
Maria Eidhagen Harrouch
Hailing from Sandviken, Sweden, Harrouch has a commendable record, having led Colorado with 11 par-or-better rounds in the 2024–25 season. She was the team’s top individual scorer in five tournaments, achieving a season-low round of 67. Notably, she recorded a stroke average of 73.85 as a senior and earned NJCAA All-America honors during her time at Pima Community College, where she also claimed the 2023 ACCAC/Region I Golfer of the Year title.
Maria Garcia
Originating from Queretaro, Mexico, Garcia transfers to Georgia after a strong freshman season at the University of New Mexico. She led the Lobos with 10 par-or-better rounds and had a stroke average of 74.04. Her achievements included team-best scores of 67 for a single round and 207 for a 54-hole tournament, along with two top-five finishes.
Sydney Givens
Givens, who joins Georgia from the University of Colorado, had an exceptional freshman season, leading her team with a scoring average of 73.59. She completed four rounds in the 60’s and had 11 par-or-better rounds, with her best scores being 67 for 18 holes and 211 for 54 holes. Givens’ consistent performance included a top-five and two top-10 finishes throughout her tenure at Colorado.
