Penn State Women’s Tennis Weekend Matches
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Women’s Tennis team (3-1) is set to host three matches this weekend. The Nittany Lions will face St. Bonaventure (1-5) on Saturday, February 8, at 10 a.m., followed by a match against Niagara (1-5) at 5 p.m. The weekend will culminate with a matchup against Mount St. Mary’s (1-2) on Sunday, February 9, at 1 p.m.
Recent Performance
In their last outing, Penn State fell to Yale with a score of 5-2 on February 2. Despite this setback, the team showed resilience on doubles court one, where No. 77 Olivia Dorner and Maiko Uchijima secured a win against Erin Ha and Orly Ogilvy, maintaining their undefeated status this spring with a score of 6-2.
In singles play, Dorner achieved victory on court one against Brettkelly, winning 6-0, 6-3, showcasing her strong performance.

St. Bonaventure
The Bonnies arrive with a record of 1-5, their only victory being a decisive 7-0 win over Niagara during the fall season. They are coming off a tough 4-0 loss to UConn on February 2 and will be looking to bounce back against the Nittany Lions.
Niagara
The Purple Eagles currently hold a 1-5 record, experiencing three consecutive losses at the start of the spring season. Their sole win came against Division II Daemen University with a score of 6-1 in the fall. They recently lost to Division II IUP, falling 5-2 on February 2.
Mount St. Mary’s
Mount St. Mary’s has not fared well in their spring matches, losing 4-0 to George Washington and 6-1 to Georgetown. They did achieve a win in the fall against Division II Chestnut Hill, which ended 6-1.
Historical Meetings
St. Bonaventure
Penn State leads the all-time series against St. Bonaventure, holding a 3-0 advantage. The last encounter took place in the spring of 2016, where the Nittany Lions triumphed with a 7-0 scoreline.
Niagara
This Saturday’s clash marks the inaugural meeting between Penn State and Niagara.
Mount St. Mary’s
Sunday’s match will also be a first for Penn State competing against Mount St. Mary’s.
