RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) athletics is thrilled to announce a series of exciting promotions for its women’s basketball Atlantic Sun Conference home games commencing in January.
As construction continues on the renovation of Baptist Health Arena, EKU will host two home games in December at Transylvania’s Clive M. Beck Center as part of the EKU MTE. The renovation’s first phase will be completed in time for the first ASUN home game scheduled for January 11 against North Alabama.
To celebrate this milestone, EKU will honor local healthcare heroes by offering discounted tickets during the women’s and men’s doubleheader on Healthcare Appreciation Day.
On January 16, the Colonels will face their longtime rival, Austin Peay, and attendees will receive complimentary EKU beanies while supplies last. Fans can secure tickets for just $2 online.
Join EKU on January 18 for a special tribute to former head coach Larry Inman and the celebrated 2004-2005 women’s basketball team as they commemorate their achievements in a game against Bellarmine. Fans are encouraged to wear white to show EKU spirit. Faculty and staff will be eligible for four free tickets, and there will be a light-up foam stick and t-shirt giveaway.
On January 30, EKU will host Jacksonville, and in collaboration with EKU Student Life, will offer post-game bingo for students along with free bundt cakes while supplies last.
February will kick off with a women’s and men’s doubleheader on Superhero & Local Heroes Day. First responders, military, and healthcare workers can take advantage of discounted tickets. Attendees can enjoy a meet and greet with select superheroes on the concourse and receive free rally towels courtesy of ServPro.
Five days later, on February 6, the Colonels will stage their annual Play4Kay game against Stetson. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the fight against cancer and will receive free pink light-up cowboy hats while supplies last.
EKU will host FGCU on February 8 for their inaugural match against this powerhouse since joining the conference. This game will also mark Youth Sports Day at Baptist Health Arena, featuring discounted tickets for adults and complimentary tickets for kids aged 12 and under, alongside a special Valentine’s Poster Station for younger attendees.
On February 27, the Colonels invite fans to a nostalgic experience against Central Arkansas with early 2000’s-themed music, throwback promotions, and a 2000’s night poster.
The regular season will conclude as EKU welcomes Lipscomb on March 1 for Senior Day. Supporters are encouraged to arrive early to honor senior athletes and their remarkable contributions, culminating in a special ceremony and post-game autograph signing.
